New Activities Helping Growers with Grapevine Viruses
The Pierce’s Disease and Glassy-Winged Sharpshooter Board set aside funding for two new activities to help the California winegrape industry in controlling grapevine viruses, especially grapevine red blotch virus and grapevine leafroll-associated virus type 3.

California Disaster Declaration on 2022 Freeze Damage
Please see the attached letter dated July 1, 2022, from USDA Secretary Thomas Vilsack designating El Dorado County as a primary natural disaster area for the freeze that occurred in April. Farms suffering losses should contact our local Farm Service Agency office in Elk Grove to see if they meet the eligibility for assistance.

On June 9 at 2pm, the USDA Farm Service Agency will be conducting a short webinar on disaster programs that offer assistance to farmers and ranchers. This event is focused for farmers and ranchers in the Amador, Butte, El Dorado, Glenn, Placer, Sacramento, and Yolo Counties.
